Thanks for helping with summer “coffee” hour! Here's a quick summary of what to do:
Two long tables and trash cans should already be set up on the porch. Vinyl tablecloths are in the coffee hour closet outside the kitchenette. The tablecloths blow during the service, so either weight them down or wait to put them on until leaving church after Communion.
Beverages:
There are 7 pitchers in the coffee hour closet. Each pitcher holds approximately 1 ¼ gallon. (1 gallon of beverage plus ice). Make up beverages and refrigerate before the service. Long spoons for stirring are in the closet to the right of the refrigerator.
· 3 pitchers of pink lemonade
· 2 pitchers of iced tea
· 2 pitchers of ice water
Pink Lemonade: packets are in kitchenette. Each packet makes 2 gallons, so use ½ packet per pitcher.
Iced Tea: Follow instructions for 1 gallon.
Ice is available in machine in downstairs kitchen. Fill a couple of bowls of ice and leave in either the freezer or fridge before the service (Neither option is perfect. Freezer—may be frozen solid and need to be chipped apart; Fridge—may melt partially)
Add ice to pitchers before taking out to porch.
Cups and napkins are in the big drawers in the kitchenette.. Use 8 oz. cups. Napkins can be put in the small blue buckets so that they don’t blow.
Snacks:
Snacks are in the closet to the right of the refrigerator. There also may be leftover snacks in the freezer (use these up first). Put out 3 or 4 baskets of snacks.
Clean up:
Wipe off table cloths and wash pitchers. Stow everything in the coffee hour closet and lock.
